Code 4
HIMBERGEN Seedmixture for tropical finches
with grass-seed and japanese millet

In recent years the interest for keeping and breeding tropical finches has increased. The fact that the import of wild birds is forbidden and that these bird species were not always easily to breed with, encouraged many breeders. The advantage of breeding tropical finches is, that the birdfancier does not need a very large birdroom for practising this beautiful hobby.

To look after the birds properly, the breeder should understand where the birds originally come from and under what circumstances they live in the wild. This will give you a lot of information, that makes you understand how these specific birds need to be taken care of.

What the feeding is concerned, tropical finches can be very choosy. Therefore the Himbergen tropical finchmixture code 4 consists only of fine millet species, canaryseed, japanese millet, broken peeled oats, grass-seed and a small amount of fat-rich seeds.

The latter are necessary for a good absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins in the intestines.

The van Himbergen Seedmixtures are never mixed for a certain price, but are put together to the need of the birds, that they "ask" for!

A constant, well cleaned composition is very important for achieving good breeding results with tropical finches.

Most of the times tropical finches are kept indoors (in a warm environment). In order to prevent the birds from getting too fat, it is advised not to give softfood (eggfood) on a daily basis during the resting period.
